I’ve finally worked out how to trim down the data my new Garmin Foretrex 401 recorded during the Brecon Beacons Ultra marathon I did a couple of weeks ago – I’ll blog about it at some point, but it was the first time I got to try out my new gadget. To my excitement I have found a plugin that will work with the software I use to blog which will mean that I can put up the route on my blog and you should be able to see my progress as the marker moves around the course – of course you can put it in higher speed and why you would want to do this for any other reason than to say… “oh, that’s an impressive bit of software” I don’t know, but I thought it’d be a great way to record what I do over the course of this year, which ultimately is the point of this blog.
Things are never this easy of course and I need to move this blog to a private hosting. Luckily I have such a thing and have been trying all day to get it to work only to find that the software on my hosting is out of date – and there was I thinking I was just being stupid! Naturally I’ll update of the move and leave a note here when I do.
Off for a run tomorrow morning on the pavements of Frodsham, fingers crossed it’ll all be fine. Looking forward to the first recce for the Bob Graham attempt. Current plan is to start around 8pm on James’ first birthday (26th July). We’re up in the lakes that weekend anyway for a wedding so that will make for some interesting dance moves! Plans will all be finalised on Tuesday I hope and assuming I can get entries into the races I want to do next year then I’ll be set. I’ve already entered the Hardmoor 55 which I am really looking forward to, and if I can get a place I’ll be following that up with the Edale skyline just 7 days later. I also plan to take on the Fellsman, but again it counts on me getting a place on the race.
